Assignment Description: For this assignment, we had to take a normal picture of our school, and use Photoshop to create a "warped reality." The purpose was to learn to take several photos and combine them, using out Photoshop skills to make them seem real. My photo includes five different pictures, not including separate layers that I created while editing. Here is my project:
Opening Paragraph: For this assignment, I chose to shoot still life. I found different objects around the house (toys, decorations, etc) and tested them with different arrangements and lighting until I got what I liked. I had to deal with the backgrounds of my pictures, to make sure they did not take away from the subjects. Coming up with interesting subjects and finding how to make the pictures creative was a challenge, but I think I did alright. Best Photo:
What Did I Learn? I learned how to pan while taking a photo, making the subject clear while blurring the background. This would be cool to use for cars and other movement shots. Also, my Photoshop skills came in handy since the actual picture isn't all that clear, due to it being so bright outside.
Opening Paragraph: For this assignment, I took pictures of nature and landscapes. I went on an adventure in the country, finding landscapes and other beauties of nature like flowers and some other things that I'm not really sure what they are. I enjoyed the adventure that went along with this assignment, along with editing the plentiful colors in these photos. Best Photo:
Assignment Description: This assignment is to take a picture of a car that a student took several years ago (labeled as "Before") and use Photoshop tools to touch-up the photo, taking out the imperfections. This assignment exposed us to painting tools, cloning tools, and changing the levels of a photo. Before:After:What I Learned: This assignment taught me how to make major edits to a photo. I learned that certain tools, like cloning, can be used for good and for evil. I also learned how to select certain parts of the photo, and then make edits to just that selection. I now know that any good photo can become a great photo.
Opening Paragraph: For this assignment I took pictures of people. I went on a photo shoot with one of my friends and we took photos in parks around town. I also took some photos of my brother, who happens to be in the University of Michigan Marching Band. I learned more editing tools in Photoshop, and I experimented with coloring in Lightroom. Assignment Description: In this assignment, we had to take a series of consecutive pictures and "stitch" them together using Photoshop. We first learned a few tricks on how to successfully take the pictures so they could be aligned, then we practiced, experimenting with different styles and layouts from Photoshop. Here are my final photos -- notice how they are very long and short since they are several photos put together. These two are good examples of a panoramic: These three are my favorite: What I Learned: The most prominent lesson I learned from this assignment was how to create a panoramic using Photoshop. I also learned, through trial and error, how to effectively add text onto a photo. This assignment also reinforced the idea that: more light = better photos. Many of the photos that I tried taking inside did not turn out well, besides a select few. |
